Sunday. Arrived in Havana by Ward Line Str. Segurança, from New York. See Sept. 28, 1899. Was the steamer the Segurança or Esperança? See Sept. 20 & 22, 1899. My notes clear this up. It was Segurança!

A letter was written to me, in gratitude, by Teacher of Escuela No. Uno, Aula 4, of San Juan de las Yeras, (Cuba) Provincia de Santa Clara. This teacher was operated on – three major operations – while on the Harvard Excursion, 1900, and was brought back to Cuba, by our lady physician. Her name is “Micaela Machado de Bermudez.” – I think.
